For several years, the desire to celebrate this extraordinary day has burned brightly within us. However, the unwelcome presence of a global pandemic kept our dreams at bay. But this year, as the world slowly opened its arms to gatherings and shared moments, we found ourselves tingling with excitement. Our dedicated staff worked tirelessly, adorning our sanctuary and preparing a delightful feast for our guests and cherished friends. It may have been a simple celebration, with the sun shyly hiding behind the rain-soaked clouds after three consecutive days of showers, postponing our Sunset Wine Toast until next year. Yet, in its simplicity, it blossomed into a joyous evening of camaraderie, friendship, and the age-old tradition of sharing sumptuous food – a feast truly fit for hobbits.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to unite with the world in celebrating International Hobbit Day here in Siquijor. And, as we eagerly look to the future, we anticipate the chance to do so once more next year, with hopes of clear skies and starry nights, for the magic of this celebration lies not just in the date, but in the spirit of togetherness that it kindles.
